I asked the question because I think we all are facing some leadership challenges. I really wanted to understand the big problems that professionals are facing. I was surprised at the diversity of responses I received. Comments like lack of trust, communication, work-life balance, respect from their leader, motivation, etc.
There was one response that shocked me to read. So shocking, I have paraphrased it below.
“I recently made the decision to leave my employer because my immediate boss had no vision, hardly came to work, bad mouthed our director and everyone else in the C-suite. They brought me into their office daily to help process their emotional well-being. I was distraught and highly disappointed to learn I would not learn much from them as a leader. So I left to start my own business. How do we heal ourselves as professionals when we’ve become “jaded” from a bad leader?”
This was hard to read. It’s so unfair for someone to experience this kind of leadership behavior. Unfortunately, there are many people who are having this experience at work. This comment was so challenging, I was compelled to deliver a video response to share how you can heal from the hurt of a bad leader. Check it out.
It’s unfortunate when you experience the hurt from a leader. However, it’s something that we can all overcome with a good game plan for our healing.
Here’s to Healing from the Hurt.
