Could you imagine taking a trip without GPS? What about building a home without blueprints? It would be hard to find success. Now imagine going through life without a plan?
Do you drift through life letting life happen to you? Does it frustrate you when you know you have a higher purpose but don’t know where to start?
Well, it’s time to get out of that funk. It’s time to put your mind to work and begin crafting a plan that will give you the life you want to live. I call this plan a Master Plan.
When I joined my college fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. We learned the poem, Invictus by William Ernest Henly. This poem had lots of meaning for me as a young adult. The poem gave me a sense of resolve and power to overcome adversity in life. It inspired me to charge ahead despite the circumstances. The last two lines in the fourth stanza, speak to the importance of crafting your Master plan. “You are the master of your fate. You are the captain of your soul.”
Crafting a Master plan for your life is not a simple task and will not take an hour to complete. You will need to commit to thinking about the life you want. You will have to think about your master plan. You will have to meditate, contemplate and soul search what you want out of life. You should expect this to take time. If you have the ability, go somewhere for a weekend alone and work on this – camping, hotel, man cave, beach house…it doesn’t matter where you go. You need to work on A Master Plan.
This Master Plan is your road map to your destiny. This Master plan is your Blueprint. This road map is your guiding document to your goals and dreams. Every captain of a ship or pilot of a plane has a plan to get them to their destination. You should have one too.
Everyone should know their purpose. Everyone should have a vision for their life. Everyone should have a plan to achieve their goals. What is yours? I challenge you to spend the month of April working on your Master Plan.
Here’s to Your Master Plan,
