Last week I shared some insights about the first Enemy of Change, Fear. Now I want to share insights about the second, Hesitation. Here is how I defined it a few weeks ago:

“Hesitation – Indecision, vacillation, and reluctance are direct impediments to your success. Hesitation indicates a lack of confidence in what you want to change.”

You must overcome hesitation if you want to achieve your optimum output as a leader. To make change permanent in your life or business, you have to have confidence. Confidence is a product of your belief system. Raise your belief system and you won’t fall victim to hesitation.

Here are three steps you can do to raise your confidence and belief system:

Step 1: List Your Past Achievements: Make an inventory list of all the things you have already achieved. One of the biggest keys to future success is to account for your past successes. We all have been successful at something in life. You should make a list of everything you have achieved, big or small.

Step 2: Focus on Your Strengths: Make a list of the things you are good at. List out your skills and places where you excelled. Listing out your strengths will show you the things you should rely on to make changes in your life.  Your strengths are your superpowers.  You must use your superpowers.

Step 3: Practice Positive Affirmations: Make a list of 31 positive affirmations and repeat one out loud each day for the next 90 days. There is been 60 plus years of research showing that the power of positive thinking has been known to beat depressive thoughts. Depression has many causes, however, thoughts of low self-esteem, not being worthy, or even good enough, definitely plays a role. By saying positive affirmations, you can change your thought process.

These are three simple keys to help you increase your confidence in your life.

Lasting Change Requires you to Stop Hesitating and Have Confidence.
