A few weeks ago, I shared a message of how you could finish the year strong. I called it the 4 Ps to Finish Strong. Now, I want to share with you the 4 Ps to Start Your Year Strong. Have you set goals for yourself? Do you want to achieve them? Do you need a process to overcome adversity and push through any challenge that may come at you?
You can do it by having the 4Ps.
The Four Ps to Start Strong
P1: Your Purpose – What is your reason for setting the goal at the beginning of the year? What is your why? If you lose sight of your purpose, it’s easy to get off track. If you stay focused on your purpose you can start strong.
P2: Your Plan – What is your game plan for the next 12 months? You got to have a plan. If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail. Write down how you are going to get to your goal. Review it daily. Get the plan done.
P3: Your People – Who are the people that are your strongest supporters? Who are your cheerleaders? Who are the people that always have your back? Call on them. Share your purpose and your plan and ask them to support you and hold you accountable for the rest of the year.
P4: Your Practices – What are you going to do every day for the next 364 days? It’s your daily actions that will ensure that you start strong. If you have the three Ps above, you have all you need. Now it’s time to execute.
It’s time to do something every day in pursuit of your goal. This happens when you have good daily practices.
These four steps will also increase your ability to control fear, discouragement, and indifference. Persistence is one of the common threads in most successful people’s repertoire – so for the next 364 days, continue to have a purpose, continue to plan, call on your people, and continue to be persistent. Make it part of your daily practice.
Be Persistent and Make it a Great Year!
